 | Learning About Cambodia’s Ecosystems & Wildlife
The Boddhi Tree regularly provides training and workshops that give our staff the opportunity to broaden their perspective and learn about subjects of interest beyond issues affecting the hospitality trade. In May 09 we went to Ream national park near Cambodia's coast. The workshop lasted a day during which we looked at mangroves, rain forest trees and isolated beaches, and explored the park's main river and estuary by sailing boat. We learned lots about the local ecosystems and wildlife, including the value of natural systems, the role of animals and plants in their environment and why it is important to maintain its balance. The day was led by the biologist and broadcaster, Dr. Dave Kattenburg, from Winnipeg University, who was a guest with us while writing a book documenting Cambodia’s recent history. |
