As well as providing excellent service to its guests, the Boddhi Tree seeks to
contribute to the community around it. Some of our profits support several
small organizations working in Cambodia.
Childsafe
Since
January 2006 Boddhi Tree Guesthouses became active members of the ''ChildSafe
network''. All our staff are very proud to protect the children of Cambodia
and implement ChildSafe policies in their premises.
What is ChildSafe ?
ChildSafe is a network aiming at reducing child abuse in Cambodia. Cambodian
taxi-drivers (motodops and tuk-tuks) guesthouses, hotels, restaurants and internet cafes
are the active members of this network. ChildSafe partners have been carefully
selected, trained and tested to protect the Children of Cambodia from potential
abuse situations.

LCDI
LCDI work with teenagers who have dropped out of school. They have a centre in Phnom Penh and 23 centres throughout Cambodia.
When LCDI moved into their new premises in Phnom Penh, the
Boddhi Tree guest houses funded the construction of new wells to supply the
students with water.

In addition, the Boddhi Tree guesthouses have
contributed to the following initiatives.
- Financial support
to an HIV project at Sihanouk Hospital, ran by Beth Goldring
- Financial
assistance for an art project by a French artist and the NGO CARE
Cambodia
- Financial support
towards the education costs of young students
- Providing stable
jobs to trainees from Don Bosco, P.S.E., Friends, Aspecca and LCDI.
- Participation at the Mango Tree Project, www.mangotreegarden.org focusing
on children at risk of developing mental health problems, especially
victims of domestic violence
- Purchasing of IT equipment for MSMSS, and NGO working on male health
issues.
- Organized two art exhibitions in collaboration with AFESIP, Spanish funded NGO which deals with sex trafficking and reintegration. We provided financial support and worked closely with art therapist Lydia Tan.
- Tree planting at local school and OPOT temple.
- Help to redesigned the garden at the entrance of Bhrama Kumaris Meditation center, Phnom Penh.
